The Aspenwood Dental Difference
Aspenwood Dental Associates and Colorado Dental Implant Center have been a friendly fixture in Colorado since 1972. Think of us as your dental family – we offer everything you need for a healthy, happy smile, from routine checkups to stunning cosmetic work. We're also completely independent, which means you won't get the corporate push around – our only focus is giving you the best possible care. Dr. Daniel Jay Zeppelin
Aspenwood Dental Associates and Colorado Dental Implant Center are proud to have had 5280 Top Dentist Daniel J. Zeppelin, DDS, as one of our dentists since 2003. Before joining Aspenwood Dental Associates, Dr. Zeppelin provided dental services to residents of long-term care facilities.
Daniel J. Zeppelin, DDS, holds a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in Denver and completed his General Practice Residency at the University of Colorado, University Hospital Sands-House Clinic in 2003. In addition, Dr. Zeppelin has received advanced training in all phases of implant dentistry through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry's program at the Medical College of Georgia. Prior to receiving his training in dentistry, Dr. Zeppelin received a Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
While attending the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, Dr. Zeppelin was awarded the American College of Dentists' Award for Outstanding Performance and Professionalism. Dr. Zeppelin is very proud to have been recognized by his peers as a 5280 Magazine top dentist every year since 2008.
Continuing education in all fields of dentistry and health care is of utmost importance to Dr. Zeppelin. He believes it is his responsibility to his patients to stay up to date with the ever-evolving techniques and trends in dentistry. He has completed thousands of hours of continuing dental education. Rarely does a month go by that Dr. Zeppelin doesn’t attend a course to increase his ability to provide patients with the best dental care available.
Dr. Zeppelin was awarded Fellowship status and later Mastership status by the Academy of General Dentistry. These awards required an examination plus over 1100 hours of continuing education in specific areas of dentistry.
He is a graduate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry/Medical College of Georgia’s Maxi-Course in implant dentistry. Through training at this program, he was trained in both surgical implant placement and restoration.
Dr. Zeppelin strongly believes in giving back to his community. He has been a volunteer with the Dental Lifeline Network since 2001. Through this program, he provides donated dental services to individuals who are disabled, medically fragile, and elderly.
When not in the office, Dr. Zeppelin enjoys spending time with his wife and two young adult children. He is an avid skier and cyclist.
Dr. Lisa Augustine
Featured in 5280 Top Dentist every year since 2008.
After completing a Bachelor of Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1992, Dr. Augustine attended the University of Colorado, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (1997). In addition to serving one year as student body president while attending the University of Colorado, Dr. Augustine was also an ASDA delegate and member of Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity. After completing her doctorate, Dr. Augustine completed a one-year A.E.G.D. residency at the University of North Carolina (1997) and completed a missionary trip to Jamaica to provide dentistry for those in need. She obtained a Preceptorship in Dental Implantology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (1998-99). She earned her Associate Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in 2013.
Dr. Augustine is affiliated with a number of organizations, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. She is also a volunteer with the Dental Lifeline Network. In addition to her busy schedule, she spends many hours attending various courses to continue her education.
In her free time, Dr. Augustine treasures spending time with her daughters, Paige and Petra, and husband, Leigh. She also enjoys skiing, reading, and traveling.
Dr. Ronald Yaros
Dr. Ron Yaros is the founder of Aspenwood Dental Associates and the Colorado Dental Implant Center. He has been practicing in the Denver area for over 35 years. His areas of focus are dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Yaros offers a variety of cosmetic procedures, including tooth whitening, veneers, and state-of-the-art porcelain crowns.
Since establishing the practice, Dr. Yaros has earned an impressive list of honors in his field. He earned a Fellowship with the International College of Oral Implantology, and he is an Associate Fellow and has taught at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has served on the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.
Dr. Yaros has lectured his colleagues on dental implants in Europe and the U.S. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Yaros became involved with the Dental Lifeline Network at its inception over 25 years ago and has been actively treating patients from the organization on a pro bono basis ever since.
Dr. Aaron Sun
Dr. Aaron Sun joined Aspenwood Dental Associates and Colorado Dental Implant Center in 2017. He has called Colorado home for over 20 years and, after earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Denver, received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Colorado.
Having been recognized by his peers as a 5280 Top Dentist in 2022 and 2023, Dr. Sun uses his advanced training and education to offer a variety of implant and cosmetic options to his patients.
Dr. Sun is licensed by the Colorado State Dental Board and is a member of various organizations, including the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Society, and the Colorado Prosthodontic Society.
He is also a volunteer with the Dental Lifeline Network, to provide community dental care for those in need.

Kelsey
Kelsey is our dedicated Dental Hygienist and she has been contributing her expertise to the practice for almost three years. She is originally from Ohio but moved to Colorado in 2022, to fulfill a lifelong dream of living in the state while pursuing her passion for dentistry. Kelsey's journey in the dental field began at the age of 19 as a Dental Assistant, and her love for patient care and education led her to pursue a career in dental hygiene. She holds a Dental Hygiene Degree, is certified in Local Anesthesia, and has Laser Certification. Kelsey is passionate about educating patients on preventive health and finds great rewards in helping them maintain their smiles and confidence. Outside of work, she enjoys an active lifestyle, including hiking with her German Shepherd, paddleboarding, snowboarding, working out, traveling, and playing soccer.
PAULO
Paulo has been a Dental Hygienist at Aspenwood Dental for the past four years and brings a unique background to his role. He is originally from Brazil but was raised in Cary, NC. Paulo's journey to dentistry began after a successful career as a news producer for CNN in Atlanta. With a Bachelor's in Music (Piano Performance and Pedagogy) and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of West Georgia, he made a significant career shift, earning an Associate's degree in Science and Dental Hygiene from Concorde College. Paulo is passionate about the fast-paced environment of dentistry, where he enjoys caring for patients' oral health and building lasting relationships. He firmly believes that "the mouth is the gateway to the body," advocating for a holistic approach to health. Outside of work, Paulo is a trained classical pianist, an avid gardener, a language enthusiast, and enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with his dog.

As a dedicated and compassionate dental hygienist, I take pride in creating a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. Known for my gentle approach and friendly demeanor, I strive to build lasting relationships through trust, education, and personalized care. I am passionate about promoting oral health and ensuring each patient feels at ease during their visit. Beyond the dental chair, I enjoy spending time outdoors, baking for friends and family, and exploring new hobbies that keep me learning and growing. I am originally from Arizona and moved to Colorado 2 years ago and still have a lot of exploring to do.
Bre
Bre is a dedicated Dental Hygienist at Aspenwood Dental, where she has been making a difference for over 8.5 years. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Bre moved to Colorado in 2015 and found her calling in dental hygiene during the 2008 recession which was driven by a desire for a stable career and a passion for oral health. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois and a Dental Hygiene degree from the College of DuPage. At Aspenwood Dental, Bre focuses on preventative care, working closely with patients to educate them on maintaining optimal oral health and tailoring her approach to their unique needs. She loves the rewarding experience of helping patients leave with a confident smile and enjoys building lasting relationships along the way. Outside of the office, Bre enjoys playing golf with her husband, attending sporting events, and spending quality time with her beloved daughter.
Min
Min is a Dental Hygienist at Aspenwood Dental who enjoys making patients feel at ease while helping them maintain healthy, confident smiles. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Pueblo Community College in 2024 and is proud to bring her skills and enthusiasm for oral health to the Aspenwood Team. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Min moved to Washington at the age of ten. Her experience growing up between two cultures has shaped her warm, understanding approach to patient care. She has a special interest in preventative dentistry and loves showing patients how oral health plays an important role in overall wellness. When she’s not in the office, Min enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and discovering new places.
Kelly
Thu “Kelly” Nguyen is a passionate and detail-oriented dental hygienist with a strong commitment to promoting oral health and patient education. Originally from Vietnam, Kelly moved to the United States eleven years ago to pursue her dream of working in the dental field. As a registered dental hygienist, she continues to build on her strong foundation of clinical expertise and hands-on experience, providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she serves. With a strong foundation in clinical knowledge and hands-on experience as both a dental assistant and now a licensed dental hygienist. As a bilingual speaker in English and Vietnamese, she has a unique ability to serve diverse patient populations and ensure that language barriers do not interfere with quality care. She takes pride in making patients feel comfortable, especially those who may be anxious or unfamiliar with dental visits. When Kelly is not working, she enjoys camping, cooking at home and entertaining family and friends.
