Aurora and Denver, Colorado
Advanced technology is a part of every modern dental practice, and at Aspenwood Dental Associates and Colorado Dental Implant Center we use many technologies to improve the quality of care we can give to you. We use technology to help us better diagnose the condition of your teeth, and to help you understand what is going on in your mouth so you can make an informed decision about your dental care. But technology is not the central focus of our office; you are. Before we invest in any dental technology, we ask one question: Will this be good for our patients? Only after we are sure the technology is proven and will benefit you do we add it to our practice.
If you want to learn more about the role of technology in giving you the highest quality dental care, we invite you to schedule a free personal consultation at Aspenwood Dental Associates and Colorado Dental Implant Center, serving the Denver area from our Aurora office.
Technologies We Offer
There are many technologies that we have found to be a positive benefit to our patients, and we are proud to offer them. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are constantly evaluating and adding new technologies, but it will give you an idea about how dental technology improves our quality of care.
The E4D CAD/CAM technology allows us to manufacture crowns, veneers, inlays/onlays, and other dental restorations while you wait. This means you can have your crown done the same day without having to wear a temporary crown while waiting for a lab to finish your restoration. We first take a digital picture of your tooth, then use a computer-controlled mill to create your dental crown or porcelain veneer while you wait.
Digital X-rays are a remarkable innovation in the quality, speed, portability, and safety of dental X-rays. Using a very small sensor placed in the mouth, we take the X-rays that appear immediately on a computer screen nearby. This makes it easy for us to look at the X-rays together and make better decisions about the best possible treatment for you. These images can be saved, stored, and transported via computer. Most importantly, though, digital X-rays reduce your radiation exposure compared to traditional X-rays. Our goal is to minimize X-ray exposure, so we only take those X-rays that are necessary to provide the highest quality care.
The Panorex digital X-ray is an X-ray that images the entire jaw and all teeth at once. It shows us the relationship between your teeth, your jawbone, and other relevant anatomy. It lets us know whether your teeth are impacted and to what degree. It is especially useful in planning dental implant and wisdom tooth removal procedures. For wisdom tooth removal, it reveals the crucial relationships between the roots of your wisdom teeth, your nerves, and your sinuses.
The intraoral camera takes high-quality digital pictures of the inside of your mouth, increasing visibility for both the dentist and you. This allows you to see what's going on in your mouth and understand what treatments might best address your dental condition. Because the high-quality images are significantly magnified, it allows for issues to be detected and treated early when small treatments can make a big difference.
Access to More Technologies
In addition to the technologies above, we have access to many others that we can use as necessary. When necessary we utilize 3-D scans to help plan for your dental implant procedure.
